Finnpilot succeeded in keeping its finances stable and its safety and service levels high in 2025 despite low maritime transport volumes. The company\u2019s operating profit totalled EUR 0.8 million. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The year 2025 was still financially challenging for maritime transport and services. Maritime transport volumes remained low and the number of pilotage assignments decreased for the seventh consecutive year. Despite this, Finnpilot managed to ensure prompt service for its customers and maintain a stable financial position. <\/p>\n\n

The company\u2019s turnover was EUR 35.6 million (2024: EUR 33.9 million) and operating profit EUR 0.8 million, which amounts to 2.1 per cent of the turnover. The net profit for the financial period was EUR 0.9 million. The financial development was supported by pricing solutions and the expansion of the service range, including examination services related to pilotage exemptions. <\/p>\n\n

High service level, no accidents<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Finnpilot performed its primary task of providing safety for maritime transport excellently, and no serious accidents occurred to piloted vessels. The service level remained high: 99.9% of pilot orders were realised within the limits of the waiting times specified by the terms of service. <\/p>\n\n

The company continued to promote its three strategic focal points. The focus of the operations was on developing business productivity, continuously renewing our pilotage services and ensuring shared operating models and a high level of competence in all pilotage areas of Finland. <\/p>\n\n

During the reporting year, close cooperation was carried out with customers, particularly to improve the advance information provided for vessels departing from ports. The training system required under the Pilotage Act (561\/2023) received regulatory approval and was taken into use. The development of remote pilotage progressed with the launch of the EU\u2011funded NELSON project, and Finland strengthened its position as one of the international forerunners in remote pilotage. <\/p>\n\n

Employees and sustainability at the core<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

The employee experience improved clearly. The PeoplePower index from the 2025 personnel survey rose to 68.7 and Finnpilot\u2019s classification improved from level B to level A+. In order to ensure the continuity of competence at Finnpilot, the company recruited new pilots for the first time since the disruption in Saimaa traffic in 2022. <\/p>\n\n

Finnpilot published its first sustainability report in accordance with the VSME standard. The company set a target of halving the total emissions of its activities by 2030 (in comparison to the level in 2021) and continued to reduce emissions, for example, by improving the energy efficiency of its equipment and fleet and by increasing the use of renewable energy solutions. <\/p>\n\n

The annual general meeting of Finnpilot Pilotage Ltd was held on 20 March 2026 in Helsinki. The annual general meeting confirmed the financial statements for the financial year of 1 January\u201331 December 2025, discharged the members of the Board of Directors and the CEO from liability, confirmed the composition of the Board and approved the remuneration report. The composition of the Board meets the objectives concerning diversity as outlined by the State\u2019s ownership steering. <\/p>\n
