Pilot Boarding Positions and Pilot Stations

We provide services along the entire Finnish coastline and in the Saimaa region

Finnpilot operates from 10 continuously manned pilot stations in the pilotage areas of the Bay of Bothnia, the Archipelago Sea–Bothnian Sea, and the Gulf of Finland.

In addition to the pilot stations, Finnpilot’s service level is ensured by 13 sub stations, which are manned when needed.

Ships arriving at Finnish ports or passing through the Finnish archipelago can take a pilot at 42 pilot boarding positions. When leaving the Finnish pilotage area, the pilot disembarks the vessel at a corresponding boarding position.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Digital Fairway Card provides up-to-date information on pilotage lines and pilot boarding positions. The service allows you to easily find all essential route and pilotage details in one place.
