UKRAINE WAR: PILOTAGE SERVICE CONTINUES NORMALLY WITH FINNPILOT MONITORING THE SITUATION CLOSELY

Like the Finnish state, Finnpilot Pilotage Ltd strongly condemns the hostilities launched by Russia in Ukraine. As a state-owned special assignment company, Finnpilot complies with the decisions and operating instructions of the state owner. We are closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine and its impact on maritime transport as well as preparing for possible disruptions.

For the time being, pilotage services to and from Finnish ports will continue normally, unless otherwise notified by the individual ports. Our order times are unchanged and our order channels are functioning normally. The traffic on the Saimaa canal is discontinued for the time being due to winter conditions.

We will notify our customers and other stakeholders immediately if the situation changes.

Pilotage is an important part of the foreign trade transport chain and security of supply of Finland. Pilotage ensures safe and smooth shipping conditions and prevents environmental damage caused by shipping.
